APPROACH

As a result of the study, the recommended course of action was to remove the existing defective marble cladding and replace it with a palette of stainless steel, painted aluminum, and granite.

In that replacement process, the image of City Hall was to be redefined in accordance with City Council’s plan, “A New Direction,” that pledges to enhance Richmond’s gateways and image corridors. The re-clad building will extend the useful service life of Richmond City Hall well into the 21st century.
